Do you have any of the following:

  • Large ropy bulging varicose veins
  • Heavy tired legs-especially by evening
  • Chronic swelling and edema-many times unexplained
  • Restless Leg Syndrome
  • Past or present phlebitis or blood clots-on Coumadin?
  • Have you had an unexplained pulmonary embolism?
  • Chronic non-healing leg ulcer
  • Itching and burning secondary to stasis dermatitis
  • Varicose veins that spontaneously bleed

Successful vein treatments must eliminate the problem at the source. The ropy bulging varicose veins that cause discomfort and many of the above problems results from faulty valves in the veins.

As blood flows through your veins to the heart, stop valves are supposed to prevent the blood from flowing or leaking backwards as gravity pulls the blood down. If the valves do not close properly, blood pools in the vein, forcing the walls to enlarge and bulge out.  If the varicosities are caused by defective valves in the greater or lesser saphenous veins, then EVLT® is the procedure of choice!

The EVLT® procedure can be studied in more detail at www.EVLT.com.
EVLT®
EVLT® uses targeted laser energy to seal the vein shut and help you look and feel better fast.
• Treatment in 60-90 minutes • Can be performed in the doctor's office • Immediate relief of symptoms • Return to normal activity immediately - with minimal pain and bruising • No general anesthesia or hospitalization necessary!
• No scars

If EVLT® is not needed and/or if one has had saphenous vein surgical stripping but still has varicose veins-other non-surgical vein treatments include:

Sclerotherapy- the injection of a chemical agent into the varicose vein to seal off the abnormal vein

Ultrasound Guided Catheter Directed Foam Sclerotherapy- the injection of a chemical agent into the faulty vein after placing a tiny catheter into the abnormal vein-commonly used in patients who have had previous surgery

Yag laser and Intense Pulse Light- primarily used for treating very small cosmetic varicosities and "spider vessels"

West Virginia Vein & Skin Centers is committed to offering the most advanced and safest non-surgical vein treatments in the world today!
